Guess What?

I have a new cousin, I have a new cousin! Her name is Audra, she was born on Oct. 3rd, 2010, she weighs 7 pounds and 3 ounces. Here is something I wrote about her:
Audra is as pink as a rose.
She is a bundle of baby and cuteness.
But she is loud and messy too.
She is brand new like a bright copper penny,
but she is already loved by so many people.
She doesn't do a lot but she is so exciting.
She is my cousin, but she is my friend too.
She doesn't know of me but I know of her.
She doesn't know of the world but the world knows of her.
She will soon know of the world and it's gifts,
and I will help her, her siblings will help her,
her parents will help her, her family will help her.
Sometimes she will get lost,
and just like my family members,
I will help guide her.
Right now she is a stranger to me,
yet  I know her at heart,
Ava her oldest sibling is excited to have another member to the family.
Jonah, her younger sibling is still trying to find out what she is.

I  don't know how jonah feels about her yet,
but I know that he will come to love her just as much as I do,
although probably a lot quicker,
I hope that Audra will grow up to be strong and healthy,
clever and brave, but most of all I hope that she will
remember to always consider family first!

Our class 1st Math Unit Reflection

We just finished our 1st math unit in 5th grade! I am very proud to say that I learned something new everyday! What square numbers are, how to make a factor tree, and all this amazing new stuff that I didn't know about! I hope that unit 2 will be just as exiting! (And that will be very hard to live up to.) You know 1 month ago I would have been dreading this. But now I can hardly wait!

DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU EVER PLAN TO READ THE BOOK WHERE THE MOUNTAIN MEETS THE MOON!

As I said before "Were the Mountain Meets the Moon" is a great book, with lots of adventure and suspension! It is about a girl named Min Li who goes on a quest to find "Never Ending Mountain" Where she must meet the "Old Man of the Moon" To ask him how he can change her fortune! So far she has met a talking goldfish who gives her directions to Never Ending Mountain, and a dragon who cant fly! The dragon soon becomes her companion in her quest! In my mind the Old Man of the Moon is a frail little old man, with a thin long gray beard and a lot of paper cuts, when he is walking he has a giant book on his back that is as big as himself! When he sits and reads he has a tendency to let nothing distract him! It is just such a great book!

Our Read-Aloud

In my class we have been reading a book called "Where the Mountain Meets the Moon" by Grace Lin, here is a picture of the cover.I wish that I could go on an adventure like Min Li. I recommend this book to  anyone! I think that Min Li is full of courage and anticipation! This is one of the best books I ever read!

My Summer

This past summer I went back t Iowa. I was staying with my grandparents for a month and a half. I got to see all my old friends! One week after I got their My Aunt Katrina and her family moved there! (Her, my Uncle Daryl, and her two kids!) One of her kids, (my cousin,) name is Jonah he turned two when I was there! (Best two-year-old's birthday party I have ever been to!) The other one is Ava and she turns four either today or tomorrow! (I can not remember which!) And believe it or not she is the oldest cousin on my mom's side beside me! (On my dad's side I am oldest by 5 years!) Also Katrina is going to have a baby soon!, It is going to be a little girl and they are going to name her Audriea! Thats probably no the correct spelling though! Until next time!
P.S. The picture on the right is of the famous butter cow that they make every year at the famous Iowa State Fair!
